a cucumber on a page

For the past couple of months I've generally been inspired by a book I borrowed from the RHS Wisley lending library.  It is a book featuring 15th and 16th century depictions of flowers and vegetables.  They are simple but gracious, down-to-earth and full-of-heart.  I flip throught the book and choose what to draw.  The cucumbers here were so "kawaii", as the Japanese would say - cute!
